Our Meeting Information

  • Troop Meetings are held every Tuesday at University Park United Methodist Church in the West Fellowship Hall, also known as Noakes Hall, from 7:00-8:30 PM.

  • Courts of Honor, our award ceremonies, are held every three months and include a pot-luck dinner.

  • Committee Meetings, our parent meetings, are held the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM.

During the Meetings:

  • We start with a flag ceremony.

  • Adults are always present to assist boys with rank advancement if older ranked scouts can not assist.

  • We have a main topic for the meeting and complement that with outdoor activities after the main meeting.

  • We key these meetings to 11 to 17 year olds for developing a variety of skills.

  • All meetings are outlined at the beginning of the year at our Lock-In. Meetings are planned in greater depth by the Patrol Leaders Council, or PLC at the start of every month.

Expectations

  • Troop 5 has high aspirations for its Scouts and Scout leaders. Our minimum expectations are:

  • To attend frequently

  • To attend in full uniform (class A) or if specified (class B)

  • To pay dues & fees on time

  • To help with fundraising

  • To supports the troop by taking on a leadership position

  • That every leadership position will be held by a Boy Scout

  • That every boy leader will have an adult advisor who is not his parent

  • That all scouts have fun!
